Nothing is more exciting than hearing the bugle of a rutting Elk in the mountains in the fall....an experience in itself!
Since 1998, a B.C. Wildlife Regulation limits
bulls to 6 points on one side. This helps to maintain mature trophy class
animals in the Toby Creek area. And we have had a very high success rate.
Our hunts can be demanding since the elk frequent the sub alpine basins.
Your guide's backcountry and hunting skills will assist you in your pursuit of the 6+ point. Pack horses are used extensively and you will be required to challenge your own skills and abilities while hunting elk with Toby Creek.
The hunts coincide with the rut - making bugling an exciting way to track and hunt this majestic anima.
Toby Creek's deluxe quality Elk hunts are done on horseback from September to early October starting in the bugle season. Our area in the Columbia Valley of South East British Columbia has a good success rate in scoring quality heavy main-beamed trophy Bulls.
This is a 6 point season area, and is one of the few remaining spots left in North America where the hunter can hunt trophy class Elk in the Rut with a rifle.
We also offer
exclusively bow hunting trips prior to the rifle hunt. Archery hunts are also available starting late August.
Our Elk hunts can include Mule Deer
and Black Bear in an exciting 10 day trip. Archery Hunts are also available for Elk starting in late -August
